For the highest archival standards, the canvas is mounted to a lightweight hardboard for preservation to ensure the paint will never crack, and it also allows for a more detailed painting process, since there is no "bounce" in the canvas. The archival mounting also makes framing easier as there is no chance of warping stretcher bars, etc. Each original painting arrives with signed certification.
